We all know that every cloud has a silver lining.  Weary from the heat…but tired of complaining about it, I decided to list some the positive aspects, the things I like about this summer heat:

• the ease and lack of fuss of getting dressed
• the feel of the cool house tiles on my bare feet
• the delight of cool showers
• fantastic watermelon
• fruit filled tall, iced Sangrias
• the taste of just-picked succulent summer fruits

• the bright light
• the cloudless skies
• the balmy evening breezes
• the golden fields of wheat
• the abundance of summer vegetables
• jugs of iced cucumber green tea
• wearing no make-up
• cool linen sheets
• peach prosecco
• tomatoes
• August – an entire month when nothing can get done in Italy!
• the abundance of wonderful summer vegetables

• the beyond blissful pool days at Genius Loci
• sharing the delight in this glorious weather with our Northern European guests
