Reviewed on TripAdvisor – May 26, 2013 “This was our seventh trip to Italy and our second trip to Genius Loci. We decided to return to the inn because we were absolutely pleased with every aspect of our first stay – the beauty of our room and the inn’s common areas including the pool, its cleanliness and comfort, the delicious breakfasts, and the location – but mostly we decided to return because of the overwhelming kindness of Michael, Mary and Maurizio, about whom much has already been written in Trip Advisor reviews. For this trip, we planned to stay seven nights at the beginning of our Italy vacation, but that is not how it turned out. As we approached the end of our planned stay, we could not bear the thought of leaving Genius Loci, so we modified our itinerary and stayed a total of twelve nights. We wish it had been more.
Everything about a stay at Genius Loci is an achievement of perfection. The details of the rooms’ designs and the comfort of the beds, the countryside views from your bedroom windows as well as the patio on which the sumptuous breakfast is served, and the easy accessibility of beautiful hill towns such as Assisi, Spello, Todi, and the wonderful neighboring Montefalco, all make Genius Loci the perfect choice for an Umbrian vacation.
But once again, it is the dazzling friendliness, helpfulness, and sincere warmth of the members of the Tacconi family, your hosts, that puts Genius Loci in a class by itself. This is more than a place to stay; it is an Italian experience to savor. You won’t want to leave; as we did not. But when you do have to leave, you know that you now have true friends in Italy who you will certainly be visiting again.” L and S
